PhD Student Member
Ms. Amy Hsieh is a cotutelle-PhD candidate working jointly between the Dpt. of Earth Sciences at Simon Fraser University and the Dpt. of Geosciences at National Taiwan University. Her project is focused on resolving paleoclimate records in Pliocene strata in the Western Foreland Basin, Taiwan.

How to get to Taipei?
Taiwan can be reach by flights to the Taoyuan International Airport (TPE).
From the airport, visitors can chose the Airport MRT Line, bus, or taxi to reach downtown Taipei.

Hotel in Taipei (April 25th to 26th)
We will spend the first night and the first half-day of conference presentations at the Howard Civil Service International House.
Directions from the Airport to Howard Civil Service International House Hotel
1. Take the Airport MRT Line to Taipei Main Station (station A1).
2. Change to the MRT Green Line (Songshan–Xindian Line). Follow the signs for Beimen Station (G13) through the underground walk ways.
3. Ride southbound toward Xindian and get off at Taipower Building Station (G08) (about 6 minutes).
4. From Exit 2, walk about 5 minutes to Howard Civil Service International House.
Cell phone SIM cards
It is recommended to buy Taiwanese SIM cards in the arrival hall, as buying them later is much more complicated and time consuming.
Icebreaker reception on April 25th
The icebreaker reception will take place in the Department of Geosciences, National Taiwan University in the evening of April 25th.
